Author

Greetings, dear Reader!

How are you doing? I hope everything is MEGA awesome!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Alexandr Iscenco, and I am the author of the novel “The Monster: Blade of Darkness“.

I was born in Chisinau, the capital of a small but beautiful and cosy country called the Republic of Moldova. Since childhood I have been interested in astronomy, anatomy of animals and humans, entomology, genetics and ecology.

Studies

I studied International Economic Relations at the Free International University of Moldova and Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at the University of Copenhagen. I also participated in a number of educational programs on the topics of environmental protection, leadership and entrepreneurship at universities in Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Australia and the USA.

Volunteering

A large part of my life so far was dedicated to volunteering. Many of the best moments in my life are associated with the organization AIESEC in Moldova, where I had been responsible for developing the program of international internships called Exchange. After active volunteering there I went on internships – one in Romania and another in Indonesia. Here are some of the wonderful moments from my AIESEC experience:

Besides AIESEC, I also contributed to the development and growth of the organization JCI in Moldova and the global movement for a clean planet Let’s Do It! In the latter one I was the one behind the creation of the Waste Explorer – a unique on-line visualization tool for waste statistics in all countries of the world.

Social Entrepreneurship

Since 2012 I have been engaged in social entrepreneurship and have helped my colleagues, Tudor and Evelina, create a collaboration tool for hardware engineers and product design teams called Dreamups. And in 2013 together with MEGA awesome young people from Moldova – Maria, Natalia, Elena and Ruxanda – we founded and started to develop our environmental organization – the Moldovan Environmental Governance Academy (MEGA). You can understand what we do here from the following video:

Literature

I began my literary activity in 2003. Back then my first tentative poems, poetic translations and the first large and interactive novel “The Scorpion” appeared. The subject of the poems and the novel were focused on the beauty and wisdom of the Nature, the importance of and need for its conservation, the philosophical reflections on the place and role of Human in the world and, of course, the ladies’ beauty and awesomeness. Those early works were followed by a hundred of other poems and an autobiographical novel “Head on into Another World” about a trip to the village Cunicea in Moldova.

My first book was published in 2007. It was my first experiment in publishing represented by a small collection of works entitled “The Thoughts: the World of My Heart and Soul. The Favorites”, which included several dozens of poems, five poetic translations and two short stories, “The Black Hole” and “Road to Happiness”. Nowadays all 100 copies of it are given or sold out. Also several poetry works were published in the anthology “The Golden Verse” in 2009. The rest of the poems I regularly post on my literary blog “The Thoughts”. Occasionally I read some of them at different poetry events. Here is one of those readings:

Nowadays I work on “The Monster” trilogy, the anthology of authobiographic short stories “The Indigo Stories”, the romantic novel “Simply Love” and occasionally write more poems that I send as gifts and publish on my blog. From time to time I publish my books on AmazonLulu, and Scribd. You can check my author’s pages on these websites herehere, and here.

So, this is my brief story.
